modern Magnum block vs LA block vs SBCh
I ask because Theres 2 local racers that still run mopar stuff, and a third that just switched from mopar to chevy, and has mopar stuff laying around. Most of their stuff is BB chrysler, but they know where small block stuff is, that I might want to buy in the future if it will bolt to the magnum block...
I'm talking universal-to-V6-and-V8-stuff- starter, oil pump, distributor, valvetrain, things like that.

You know these Dakota engines very well correct?
I'm going to get a newer 2-nd gen Dakota around a 2002 to 2004 This will not happen any time soon but in your opinion is the V8 a better engine than the V6?
I have the 2.5 now and I'm very happy with it as its a dependable little Nut and very easy to keep up so a V6 may do me?
I may even look at older ones 1998 to 2000
This is a bit of fun were I live I see many 2-nd gen Dakota driving around all in good shape
Thanks

Another thought. What if I were to break all the laws of appearing stock, and put a BBC chrysler block (like a 440) in down the road, instead of building a 408 small block? Would the driveplate/crank position sensor transfer over (I doubt it)? I know the motor mounts would be custom, but what wouldn't be at that point. I suppose I could go to a megasquirt at that point, but I don't know how those connect to the dash and CTM. That's why i was thinking to spend the extra money, and just make a 408, and live with less power.
(This all assuming I ladder-bar the truck eventually)
