Default Adrenaline 3" Lift Kit

Hello all,

I would like to purchase a lift kit for my 04 Dakota 4WD, but not sure which one to choose.

After some research, I came across the Adrenaline 3" Suspension Lift (Seen here: http://www.adrenalinemotorsportsllc....dakota4x4.aspx)

Does anyone familiar with this one? I am mainly just looking for something on the cheaper side and that I can install my self.

Any other recommendations are welcome as well.

I moved your post into the discussion forum. It is tech related.

Not having a 4x4, take this with a penny or two's worth of thought, but I'm thinking a 2-3" rise in the front without moving the axle or rack may make your CV shafts scream bloody murder and bump steer may be more than you'd like.

What he said.

And it's highly unlikely that you'd get a real 3" out of that kit, anyway. 2" is about the most you can expect with any kind of a decent ride, and even that is going to be much harder on front end components than stock height.

None of those drawbacks and hassle, just a whole bunch of different drawbacks and hassle.

That's similar to what I did, reindexed keys with add-a-leads in the rear. You have be carefull not to lift to high or steering geometry and cv joints will suffer.

I don't understand what is so difficult about our trucks...the rack is easily dropped...the axle maybe not so much, but they make driveline couplings good to 40-60 degrees for a price, A-arms are not that difficult to machine/weld/fabricate if you have the material...what keeps somebody from building tubular A-arms with coilovers with 60 degree halfshafts and a rack drop mount or steering box replacement?

I looked at that same kit a few weeks ago.
I ended up going with this...
http://www.totalperformanceonline.co...21/30/100-14-2.

It's cheaper than the adrenaline kit, you're looking at a total of 170 (150 + Shipping $20)

They're pretty straight forward to install as long as you have a breaker bar and a can of PB blaster.
Depending on how rusty your torsion keys are it can be pretty hard getting the keys off and removing the torsion bar from the lower control arm. I'm hopefully knocking this lift out finally this coming weekend. My torsion bars are pretty stuck in the control arms so PB blaster is currently my best friend.

That link takes you to the 91-96 dakotas... Don't know why, I copied the link from the 97-04.
But just search around on that site and you'll see it.

I would just go with a body lift and be done with it. You will get more "true" lift out of it and it wont affect the ride at all. I went with a similar lift that you posted but it didn't do a whole lot. I wouldn't go any higher than 1.5" blocks out back as you wont be able to match it up front.

01blackdak... If you could post some pics up as you go along that would do the rest of us looking at a suspension lift wonders. I myself am looking at most, a 2" suspension lift and the link you put up there interests me. Any feedback on ride quality, ease of installation, do you end up needing to replace the shocks as suggested, would be greatly appreciated - Thanks, Sean
