Default 2000 dakota bogging down

I have a 2000 dakota, 4.7L, 4x4. Just recently while ideling it will bogg down to where it sounds like it is going to die then all of a sudden it revs up to about 3k rpm and idles fine for a min then does same thing. Has never died just sounds like it will at any second. Also while driving it seems like i run out of gas and it starts sputtering then i will accelerate and it takes a couple seconds before it will react it boggs down 1st then i accelerate a little more and it will finally get going, but then it will do the same thing a few seconds later. Its kind of like a carberated atv that isnt jetted right. It is also getting worst by the day. Did it couple times last week now it does it all the time. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
