Default How much would you pay for my truck?

So long story short, I'll be getting a new (new to me) car next weekend and I'll be selling my truck. I could keep it, but really have no need for a truck anymore. I live in an apartment with no where to keep a second vehicle.

So KBB says my truck is worth $6000 in "good" condition, which reading the description, it would fall under. It has a couple issues. No reverse lights, A/C isn't cold, and it will need brakes in the next year. It has been very well taken care of and looks better than 90% of the second gen Dakotas out there.

That being said, I have a hard time believing I'm going to find someone to pay $6,000 for it. I only paid $7,000 for it and that was 5 years ago and 62k miles ago. I did look up the private party value.

So what would you guys be willing to pay for it?

Just a few specs on it...
2002 club cab
4.7, 5 speed
4wd
3:55 rear (open)
159k miles
New clutch & rear end
Cooper Discoverer A/T3's with 80% tread remaining

Pic in my signature, would post more, but photobucket is ridiculous and doesn't work worth a crap these days...

my 2004 quad cab 4x4 4.7 auto with 115k would have a hard time getting 6k with no issues.

That's what I'm saying. I know where you live plays a role, but I was shocked to see the KBB said my truck was worth $6,000. I can't see anyone paying that...

I've noticed KBB overprices a lot of vehicles. I personally wouldn't pay 6000 and I would be looking for a deal... so Id say 4000-4500

With the truck box, I would probably go in at 45-48.

All depends on your area. Look around and see if you can find something close. I would say 5 would be a pretty good number. Heck I sold my dakota with a bad tranny for 3k

I'd probably pay $4k for it. There are just too many choices in that price range (around here, at least) to pay much more than that.

I just bought my 2004 4x4 for $3500 (166k miles), and the A/C works great and the reverse lights work. I did need to put on new brakes, fix a check engine light problem, replace a turn signal bulb, and replace the upper radiator hose. I also did the standard fluid swap thing, new plugs, and bought a new battery (the old battery worked but I didn’t trust it) and tires (the tire were pretty worn and I wanted to replace them before I took it off-road).

Arizone is a long way from CT though... prices can vary quite a bit. I wouldn't take $3,500 for it. Heck a dealer told me he would give me that in trade in. I'd like to see $5,000. The box will stay in the truck. Have no need for it otherwise and won't get much for it selling it apart from the truck.

Soon she'll be gone... its bitter sweet really.
