I tried the Sound Ordnance M4050 4-channel amp. It did have a good clean sound but it just did not have the power I was looking for. The mids and highs were crystal clear and sounded great but bridging the rear channels for my 10" Alpine sub was not loud enough. Plus the amp had a bass boost that was either too much or not enough. It is a 3 way switch that you could set at 0 (off), 6 db or 12 db. 12 db gave my sub a "floppy" sort of sound on a lot of different music, especially on parts of the music like bass drum notes. I noticed that a lot when I listened to Rush's Moving Pictures album and other albums too. The 6 db bass boost might as well not be there, it really had no effect on the sub's sound. I like a variable bass boost a lot better, so I can set it how I like it. This was probably all my fault because I knew good and well the M4050 had less power than my old Kicker amp and the bass boost was not the same as what I had before but I ordered it anyway trying to keep it cheap. I should have done more research and would have probably ordered the Autotek first and been done with it.
