Used 2001 Dodge Dakota V8
Hi everyone.
Brand new here.
About 2 weeks ago I bought a used 2001 Dakota V8 4.7.
I have a few issues that hopefully someone can help me out with.
1. The AC only blows HOT air. It wont blow to the face vents only defrost and foot vent. The defroster snowflake light constantly blinks.
I bought a recharge kit. Originally, the compressor wasnt spinning at all. After the recharge kit, it started spinning. I let it run for a bit and my PSI was good. Checked the air....still extremely hot. Im not a car expert per say but Id hate to bring it to the mechanic and get charged out the butt for something I could figure out myself.
2. The guy said the door handle popped out, it just has to be reconnected inside the door.
3. My passanger door window switch wont roll down the window but I can roll it down from the driver door.
4. My doorlock switches wont engage. I hear them clicking but it wont lock them.
5. The back seat back has the metal hooks on it which hook onto the rings behind it. The seat is down and I cant figure out how to reattach the seat back
Any help would be great. Just keep in mind I do not have any manuals.
Thanks

Welcome to the forum!
2. Take off the door panel and figure out what broke on the handle.
3. With the door panel off, make sure the connectors are all seated.
4. Will they lock on their own when driving?
Manuals can be found here https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...-download.html
Good luck!

Hi Sredding,
On the HVAC,are any of the a/c lines near the evaporator cold? Do you have a gauge set? Can you get us the high/low pressures?
The bad news, the mode doors for the HVAC are electric. You need a DRB (dealer) to program them and test their operation. It should clear up the blinking light. The temperature blend door may also be inoperative - causing the hot air.
The easy check on the passenger window, is the window lockout engaged? If not, bad switches are very common. The feed for the passenger side comes from the drivers door so it could be either. Can you check for power to the switches?
The door lock actuators are either disconnected or broken - common.
Not sure on the seat. Is it a club or quad cab?
Hope it helps.
