I did both sides to where they fold down, have to unbolt the 4 bolts holding the seat down, then you lift up on the seat to get the back slides out of the hanger bracket things. Then you pull off you back carpeting and there are to hanger brackets deals on there you unbolt. The. Just bolt your seat back in. I had a kicker shallow box/and sub back there for a while. Gonna build a custom box for it though.

SilverCC, would that headunit make sense using 4 Infinity 6032si's? I have them at all four corners with the stock 'premium' stereo. I also still have the tweeters in the door.

I am sure the DEH-5600 would do fine on pretty much any good name brand speaker you want to use with it. Infinity is a great speaker, and should sound very good, I know a lot of Dodge owners have Infinity aftermarket speakers on the factory Infinity radio and amplifier and the sound quality is excellent. The only thing that would bug me about using the 5600 with the OEM amp is the amount of internal output power the deck has. If you have the factory Infinity amp the Pioneer might have too much power for the speaker level inputs on the amp. It would still work but the volume would be super loud at less than 1/4 turn on the volume ****. There could be some distortion too. Back in the day I installed plenty of aftermarket decks and interfaced them with the OEM Dodge Infinity amps, they sounded fine. But decks nowadays have a boatload of power, much more than even just 10 years ago. You can even use the rear channels of the DEH-5600 to drive a single subwoofer if you want, it is rated at 70 watts and the deck has its own crossover and sub level controls...Something like that was absolutely unheard of back when I was in the car audio business, and even if it had existed it would have had a 4-digit price tag.

You could try it with the OEM amp, but if it is too loud/too much input you could always just bypass the amp and use the internal power in the deck. It is not too hard to bypass the amp. Your 6032's would sound fine either way. The power in the 5600 is amazing, I don't think I will ever need to install another amp in my truck. The deck uses MOSFET outputs and has plenty of power and great sound on its own. I also figured out the lighting features on it last night and was able to dial the colors of the deck in to exactly match my blue-green dash lights. The 5600 is one of the best decks I have seen in a long time.

I'm running my pioneer deck into the factory line-levels on the infinity amp. Yes, it does get effing loud, but it doesn't get too distorted...usually me ears hurt from volume first.

The only thing I wish I had done, was invert the front/rear connections. I prefer a forward sound stage, but my deck doesn't have dedicated amp outputs for the sub. So I have it as +2 to the front, but subs are on the back, so it took away some bass, and I had to dial it back in on the deck to get the subs back. I'm at highs +4, mids +3, and bass +6 with overall loudness set to high.

I've had this pioneer stereo for a few months now and love it, need speakers though. Crutchfield currently has the pioneer 1644s on sale but state they only fit the rear of my 03 quad cab. Do these truly fit the front like you state without any modifications?

I don't know why Crutchfield says 1644's won't fit in a Durango door. As far as I know, Dakota's and Durango's have the same door. I know I have 1644's in my front doors and rear side panels, they fit fine, there is plenty of depth in both locations. I just had to make my own speaker mounting plates out of mdf because the factory speaker hole in the door is too big to mount the speaker directly to the door itself. Some guys have also mounted new speakers by removing the factory speakers from their factory plastic mounting plates. Others have used the plastic mounting plates Crutchfield supplies. I personally think mdf is the best method. Either way you do it, Dakota's and Durango's are the same as far as the front door speakers go.

I was going over all my old posts and thought I should update this one. The 16th fit fine in my rear doors. Sound great too, thanks for the info! My only problem was the adapters Cruthfield gave me had one of the three tabs on each one was about a quarter inch too long. Quick snip with a wire cutter on each and I was in business!
