Default Park idle surges?

I have noticed when my truck is warm and it is idling in park the rpms surge. I know it is a sensor on the throttle body(MAP, IAC, TPS) i just dont know which one. I havn't noticed it when i am driving.

i dont know if it would matter but i did just but an 8" sub in my truck that is running on a 820watt amp. Do you think it could be drawing to much power?

unplug the 820 watt amp for a day or two and see what happens.

820 watt amp? Why?

could be the alternator is about worn out so the 820 watt amp is taxing it in idle

Do you have a high amp battery for the 820 watt amp?

I'm not the best at this stuff so its my guess

surprisingly a 400 watt amp wasn't enough to power the sub and the 820 was the next size Walmart had. and i may have to try that.

I found this it may help

http://www.termpro.com/asp/pubs.asp?ID=117

I think the OEM alternator only puts out 112 amps max some have a higher output alternator around 135 amp I think but you can get them higher

How old is your battery?

How many amps?

Are your battery cables in good shape no corrosion?

Did you ground the amp with a separated ground of its own?

Are the cab grounds in good shape?

Some things to check on
