Default 04 Dakota 4wd auto clicking

I just had the driver side CV replaced. I have had a clicking when in 4wd sounded like it was coming from the driver side. It sounds just like a worn out CV shaft but it did not fix the problem. There is no clunking or anything just the aweful clicking. Any ideas?

Sorry for late response. It cant be wheel bearings as I just replaced the hub on that side. The ujoints don't appear to have any slop in them. It only does it in 4wd under load

How fast is the clicking? Is it wheel speed or driveshaft speed? If it's wheel speed, it's pro bably a cv joint.

I wish my other phone didn't crash as I had a video on it. It sounds like driveshaft speed. It isn't every rotation it seems. Also if I flip it to 4 hi it doesn't always do it but if I punch it on a dirt road it might. It does it more in 4-lo. I just replaced the driver side CV and it sounds like it is coming from under the truck. Never understood why you would put an aluminum chain drive tcase behind a v8

Actually, the transfer case is pretty strong.

Does your front driveshaft have a CV joint at the transfer case end? If so, I'm guessing that's the culprit.

Well the shop confirmed it is the transfer case. What case options do I have? I currently have the electric shift tcase behind the 4.7. I thought it was the NP231d but im thinking now that it would be the NV233. If I can put in a stouter case what do I need to look for?
