the selector is just a 4-way witch (2L, 2H, N, 4H), without seeing the t-case myself but knowing what gets said on here, there's an actuator that pushes the linkage to the right spot. I'm guessing that based on which contact is engaged, the PCM turns the actuator so far, to put the shift fork into a certain place.

I added up the cost and around here it would cost about 7k so I'm just gonna do a V8 swap. But I want to put a narrowed ford 9 inch and a different front suspension under it.

Dang, why so expensive? You can buy a whole donor Bronco for half that price and have almost everything you need.

you could easily go with a radius arm under it, only cost would be the steering box, the axle, and some tubing. Like Tom said, you can lay everything out in the driveway as sub-assemblies, and do it in a weekend.

The V8 swap is about 2-3-4K in itself by the time you buy a PCM, engine, and transmission.

I was planning in a V8 swap and SAS but around here it is hard to find older vehicles like that. The closest 2 junk yards have only been around for a couple of years too. What kind of suspension should I use for the front and could I do away with abs without throwing a code?

If you're looking for cheap and easy, you're probably better off not changing the rear end, at least for now. If you can find a front axle that matches your ratio and can live with having a different lug pattern front and rear, that will save you a bunch of money and effort.

BTW, where are you that there aren't any junkyards?

I don't know if that sensor is for the speedo, or just for the ABS. I know mine has one on the transfer case that works the speedo. If yours relies on that sensor, it limits your choices in rear axles if you want a functional speedometer and a truck that runs right.
