Default Starting issues HELP

Here'e the history. Charging system went to high end of readout. Changed alternator. Ok for one day, had to change starter, drove home. no start, just a a buzzing sound-no start. changed battery-still the same. Retrieved code from pcm display-"p doNE" Can it be a faulty starter? Or a ground issue?

Hi David,

Welcome to the forum. What year is your truck? Engine? Transmission?

Depending upon the year of your truck there is a relay in the PDC (under the hood) for the starter motor. That trips the solenoid on the starter.

Make sure the starter is tight and that all the connections are clean and tight.

The alternator should not keep the truck from cranking.

the buzzing you hear is the fuel pump priming.

If it's not even clicking, time to start looking through the PDC and checking connections.
