Bushing and bump stop ?
ok i was thinking about changing all the bushings on my truck, control arms , leaf springs , sway bar , plus the bump stops. i figured i would do them and get them out of the way since i was going to changing all the shocks . Now what do u guys think is a good brand of Bushing to go with? also what is the best bump stops to go with? cause my stops are shot.
I think the energy's are good if you can get them. I seem to remember there being a grave shortage with long ship times. I just have Moog's on mine. You can do the uppers at home if you have a basic press (ours is a harbor freight special), I had no problem. The lowers are a pain since you have to deal with the springs.
I'm not too sure why people are so put off about removing the coil springs I found it to be very easy to do. Pulled my springs out three times
I will say if you are going to do anything about your front end do it all at the same time as that's why I have removed my springs three times. Just replace everything don't forget the small things also like the spring isolators and bushings.
I'm a little pissed about my new top bushings as they are already cracking yes my new bushings are cracking only after one year my guess is these bushings have been sitting on a shelf for a number of years so the rubber is already old.
So with that in mind the energy suspension bushings are looking good to me the only reason I didn't use them was they can be noisy/squeaky and transmit more road vibration and noise through them as they are stiffer than stock rubber bushings.

the torsion bars are for the 4x4, not the 4.7L. I presume it will probably be easier since you can simply disconnect them once you have removed the load.
