Halo Headlights
I found some halo headlights that I like but I have read that the Spyder brand of them have problems with melting. Does anyone know if these have a problem with melting and if you have them how did you like them?

Also the HIDs are 35w. I'm thinking that will be good enough but not really sure. I don't really need a ton of light but I do want more.

DOT/SAE approved means nothing. You need to make sure it meets Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108. If it does, you're OK and legal. By changing out the entire reflector assembly with one designed for HID this kit likely complies.

I actually loved the light pattern of the HID's in the factory housings. Gave me about 170 degrees of light width. Had a cop pull me over after passing him while he was in a driveway, and I explicitly asked if they were too bright coming at him and he said he had no problem with them, but having 6 beams of light is illegial.

35watt vs 55watt. Isnt a real big difference the 55s are just more intense light. All the 55watt is a 35watt ballast just over powered(some say this cuts the life of a 55watt ballast in half). You will be fine running 35 watt light as they will be 10times brighter than stock. As for the halo fogs it depends on the bulb they use. Im running hid's in my stock fogs so they will most likely work in the halo ones too. I've been running hid's for almost 6 years now and always had 55watt lights. Went 4 years on my dakota with 55watt and never had a problem ended up selling it so dont know if they are still working or not
