Transmission fluid help!
Not in a Dakota.
It takes 4.8 pints, almost 2 1/2 quarts of Mopar Manual Transmission Fluid p/n 4761526 (updated number is 4874464). That is the ONLY fluid that is recommended for the NV3500. GM also has the same fluid for their version, p/n 12377916
Pennzoil and Amsoil make "syncromesh" fluid which meet the requirements (MS-9224).
It is not 75w-90 gear oil.

Synchromesh is very good manual trans lube. It's better than OEM Mopar MTL and costs about half. I have used both Synchromesh and Mopar MTL and my transmission always shifts better, shifts smoother and runs quieter on Synchromesh.
