The oil filter is almost brand new it has a little over 1000 miles on it. It ticked bad today when I went to town of course sitting still. Got out of the truck smelled like oil burning but I have checked it a dozen times and it shows the same level. I considering running 20w-50 synthetic blend in it next oil change.

I previously had a 97 dodge ram close to 200,000 miles and that's what i ran in it.

Is synthetic blend or fully synthetic better if you want to stop the ticking nose?
