2001 Dakota Door Locks

Default 2001 Dakota Door Locks

I have a 01 Dodge Dakota 2 Door Club cab v-8 automatic I am a disabled widow with no amil and new to my area my problem is my power door locks the drivers or passenger side don't work with the switches at all and the don't work with key fob either the thing is when I try key fob the horn beeps that it, now it so hard for me to use the key I drop all the time the other day in a 1 1/2 of snow it took me over 45 mins to find and I couldn't move also its so hard to get my oxygen tank in truck using the key to does any one have any idea's the dealers see a disable woman and wow watch out the prices are just unreal and I am not made of money I have no family to help either now I was told there is a door lock relay but cant please is there soom good men out there to help me find what I should do or look for Thank you from the bottom of my heart Kathy

Hi Kathy,


Welcome to the forum. I moved your post into a new thread.


When you move the switch in the cab, do you hear any noise from the door locks? Maybe a grinding noise? Anything? How about with the fob?


There is no relay for the door locks - factory anyways. If someone has put in an aftermarket alarm or something at one point there could be. The CTM, the central timer, connects directly to the door locks. The door switches and RKE (keyless entry) both go through the CTM.


It is possible the actuators for the locks have failed.
