Question Turn signal problem

Hi new to the site. I just purchased a 97 dakota club cab 4x4 auto 3.9L. When I use the turn signals they blink as if there is a dead bulb but the bulbs all work. I have been trying to find some info on where to start. Any suggestions on where to look for a faulty ground or maybe the relay? i am not i mechanic but can figure things out quick lol. Just curious if this is a common simple problem or a headache to come. Thanks

The flasher units have a lifespan and it likely old and weak. The flasher unit is fairly cheep and available at any parts store. On my 2000 Dakota it was on the back side of the fuse panel visible when you open the cover on the end of the dash inside the drivers door. You will have to reach up under the dash from inside the drivers foot well to change it. If you have trouble finding the flasher unit under the dash, turn on either your left or right turn signal to help you find it. This will help you will feel and hear where the flasher unit is through the clicking of the flasher. It is as simple as plugging the new one in the place of the old one.

Make sure BOTH bulbs in the front are working. There are two bulbs on each side.

Are they regular bulbs or LED's? LED's can make them blink fast.

I had the exact same problem with my '97 and it turned out to be a bad connection where the turn signal pigtail plugged into the harness.
