If I go to a junk yard and take the leafs springs and coils of the crew cab 4c4 with v8 can I swap that out with my crew cab 2001 v8? And if so howuch lift will that give me?

 

A 4wd Dakota in '2001 has torsion bars, not coil springs.

The springs on a 4wd, in the rear, mount above the axle. In a 4x2 they are under the axle.

 

Oh wow well I guess that would not work. So there no way I can put the leaf spring on top of my axel ?

The spring perch is different between the 4x4 and 4x2 Kicker.

You have a 4x2 now. You'll find the spring perch under the axle already. If you want to lift the truck one way you could do it would be to cut it off and then weld it into the proper position, taking into account the drive line angle. There are alternatives.

You should be able to find a kit out there that'll raise your truck. How much lift do you want.

 

Well I've found a 3 in lift which is the only suespension lift I can find at http://www.doetsch-shocks.com/17.asp
I also could get the body lift but idk how I feel about that...? And I don't want to spend to much I also might be pulling a trailer later on down te road with landscaping equipment untill I get a bigger truck for fun...
