I believe the lincoln motor is just the taurus without a low speed.

If you had the factory 14" E-fan, all i did was use it's leads to trigger the relay, and ran my tap switch to the green positive wire.

They didn't have the aux efan until 2000, at least in the Durangos.

Yep, just the clutch fan. They had a tsb where they'd add the aux fan to it, but it was easier just to do the Taurus fan.

I prefer the taurus fan because of the dual speed (I'm not sure if the mark fan has it or not to be honest) that way it's not on all the damn time at high speed. I do have a dakota digital fan controller to manage the dual speeds too. I see the newer version of mine has an option to turn off the fan at highway speeds which I would have liked too. http://www.dakotadigital.com/index.c...rod/prd852.htm

I forget where but a while back I saw a graph somewhere showing the cfm vs current draw of the two fans, and while the mark iv fan moved a couple hundred more cfm of air, it used way more power to do so, so I don't think it's worth it. Here in sc I've been stuck in traffic in 110°+ heat with the a/c on, and the temp never got above 190° or so (I have a 180° thermostat), so I think the taurus fan moves more than enough air.
Yes sir, it sure is convenient I tell ya. The Mark VIII fan is a single speed as far as I know, there's only two wires on both of the ones that I have.

That's a nice looking setup you've got there, maybe once I have a V8 in there I'll shell out the money for one. I might just go with a cheaper thermostat probe setup though too (I'm on a pretty limited budget).

I went to the yard today after calling and finding out they'd sell me one for $25. I assumed that meant they had one, so I walked all over and of course they were all 3 liters So I found a 97 Mark VIII and yanked it out of there.

Hmm, for some reason it always seemed like my lincoln fan on my ford spun faster than the taurus fan I had on the Dakota. I had the taurus fan only wired to it's high speed too. Anyway, I gotta mount this beast somehow now, there's no way it looks like it'll fit in there without cutting some of the plastic on the efan casing (not the actual casing around the fan though).

There were only a couple of the 3.8l ones when I went to the pull a part last time. I grabbed one and my brother grabbed another for his 74 Dart.

Mounting the fan was actually pretty easy, but I'm not sure about the 00+ trucks since they changed the fan shroud. I was able to just remove mine altogether.

The fan sits pretty much at the bottom of the radiator and is almost the exact width of it too. The blue piece in the upper radiator hose has the temp sender for the fan controller in it.

I made brackets out of some pieces of steel I got from the lumber section at Lowes. I used some machine screws that I slotted on the end so that I could hold them still to tighten them due to the heads being under the fan shroud. I used the stock fan shroud mounting points and bolts to hold it to the radiator.

what he said ^

I did have to cut mine up to clear the fluid bottles. Or you can convert to the pre-00 fluid bottles and ditch the whole shroud like he did ^

Thanks for the pictures and ideas, I appreciate it. Looks good! Good job with it, it's good to see a nice clean setup like that.

Yeah, I just took off the top of my shroud and tried fitting the fan in there after making some cuts and it's definitely going to need more cutting tomorrow. I'd do the fluid bottle swap, but I don't think I'll be able to get back to the junkyard anytime soon. Did you take off those two tubular support bars that go up diagonally to the core support? Or did you make cuts in the fan housing so the fan could go around the supports? Not sure if that makes sense, but as is, the shroud doesn't fit over the fan. Also, I think I might have to cut off the top mounting tabs because they seem to be in the way of getting the shroud back on. If that's the case, I think I'll have to get creative with my mounting since I won't have any actual mounting tabs left.

Lots of photos here: https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...at-hurt-4.html

I only have 1 strap holding it in place on each side. Z bracket on driver side, straight on passenger.

Awesome, thanks! One last question, are you just running without the bottom shroud? I noticed in your picture that it's not there, and if I could get away without it then it would make mounting a whole lot easier.

EDIT: Never mind, I decided I'm just going to do away with it.
