Exhaust Leak Near Muffler
Hey guys,
I've developed a small rust hole in the piping just before the muffler and I'm looking to repair it quick and dirty.
Has anyone had experience with exhaust tape or JB weld? I plan on drilling out the rust and trying some type of goop or tape. Not looking for something permanent. Just quick and dirty to pass an inspection.
Anyone have any experience with quick fixes?
Thanks

I'm an effin JB weld expert! LOL
Get one of those wire brushes you can attach to your drill and remove the rust from the the area real good. Spray brake cleaner to clean it. Mix the JB Weld epoxy stuff half and half, then apply to warm exhaust. Let it sit overnight and if it's real cold out, in a garage. If the hole is big enough where the JB weld it going to leak down into it, cover it with a small piece of metal cut from a tin can then make sure the JB Weld spreads beyond the edges of that.

Hahaha nice one Tom,
Would simply putting one of these clamps/tin can over the hole actually work? I thought that would just be a dead giveaway to fail me on the spot!
With JB weld or a tape I could throw some grease/dirt/oil over it to cover it lol!

Far as i'm concerned, it covers the hole therefore these is no hole/leak.
