You looked in the side fuse panel?

As your drivers side door is open look for a small panel on the dash its covered up if the door is closed

I changed the one on the drivers side panel the 5 amp one for the interior lights and they still are out as well as the radio.

There are no OEM inline fuses.

I found a set of generic Dakota wiring diagrams. They are pre-2000 but no year is shown so I hope it helps.

They show a 15 amp fuse that feeds both the radio and interior lights. It's fuse #12 in the junction block - that's the one just inside the drivers door.

Ok not that much diff

I never understood what light you were talking about the overhead console light or the Cab dome light on top of the rear window.

This may be were the real problem is.

Wiring problems are best handled by 00DakDan I'm not so good with wiring problems

Have you checked the 5 amp fuse since you replaced it? It might have blown again.

Is it an OEM radio or not?

It is both the maps lights in the overhead consol and the overhead light in the back as well as the radio. As the pic I attached shows the fuse block is different in mine than the one you showed me. I have looked at the underhood breakers and nothing there seems to relate to interior lights or the radio. In answer to a previous post the radio is oem factory installed

Was a security system installed or other device by a company/store?

Or have you installed anything?

They may have installed it wrong tapped into the wrong wires.

Have you look under the dash to see if their is anything weird like wires hanging down lots of tape or wire splices?

My dome light would flicker on me at times so I looked under the dash to see a wire spliced wedged into the back of the fuse block upon touching it my dome light came back on.

why did this happen a shop installed my security system and messed some wires up.

You may have the same problem
