Fuse for reading lights and radio out
I have a 1997 Dakota and the reading light went out and when I tried to take the cover off to get at the bulb which by the way i cannot figure out, i assume i blew the fuse but the interesting thing is that the radio is not working either which did work before i tried this. Any help will be appreciated
See if you have an ignition off draw (IOD) fuse. I believe it will be in the fuse panel on the Power Distribution Center (PDC) which is under the hood by the battery. IOD fuse should be 10 amps. You probably popped it while fiddling with the light.
If you have no IOD fuse, sorry I am not familiar with the electrical system on a 97, check both fuse panels for your dome light/radio memory fuse. Both circuits share the same fuse.

Welcome to the forum Rip.

I'm not familiar with the overhead lights on a '97 but if it's like later years the bulbs come out through the back. You have to take it down. There should be one screw near the windshield facing up. Remove that then pull straight down.
Check all the fuses in the junction block on the dash.

I changed the bulbs and the 5 amp fuse and still nothing. I am not mechanical but i found the block under the hood but have no idea how to open it haha. sorry to be so stupid but I am trying to learn

I did get the cover off but I do not see any 10 fuse that is for the interior lights and radio. Am i missing something on your diagram? Could there possibly be some inline fuse somewhere. By the way I really appreciate your help
