Default Fuse for reading lights and radio out

I have a 1997 Dakota and the reading light went out and when I tried to take the cover off to get at the bulb which by the way i cannot figure out, i assume i blew the fuse but the interesting thing is that the radio is not working either which did work before i tried this. Any help will be appreciated

See if you have an ignition off draw (IOD) fuse. I believe it will be in the fuse panel on the Power Distribution Center (PDC) which is under the hood by the battery. IOD fuse should be 10 amps. You probably popped it while fiddling with the light.

If you have no IOD fuse, sorry I am not familiar with the electrical system on a 97, check both fuse panels for your dome light/radio memory fuse. Both circuits share the same fuse.

Welcome to the forum Rip.

I deleted the posts in the other thread.

I'm not familiar with the overhead lights on a '97 but if it's like later years the bulbs come out through the back. You have to take it down. There should be one screw near the windshield facing up. Remove that then pull straight down.

Check all the fuses in the junction block on the dash.

Interesting video '98. I've yet to change one but when I put the overhead console in I could access them from the back easily.

That Video may not work as I noticed its from a Ram not a Dakota but they should be the same I would think.

There are plastic snaps on each side of the PDC cover. Unsnap it and lift it off, the fuse designations and locations are printed on the bottom side of the cover.

I'm not too sure if this matches your Dakota but they are close in years.

This is a flip of the PDC diagram on the lid this makes it easier to work with

I did get the cover off but I do not see any 10 fuse that is for the interior lights and radio. Am i missing something on your diagram? Could there possibly be some inline fuse somewhere. By the way I really appreciate your help
