Question Clear coat going on roof and Hood

Well the Clear coat is going on the roof and Hood.

Anyone had any luck with a fix?

Thinking of just getting the hood and roof painted another color like black.

The rest of my paint looks good still

I'm not all that concerned with perfection as I just don't like the bubbling pealing on the roof and hood.

Thanks for any suggestions whatever the fix is remember I live in Arizona were it gets 115 and up every summer so the sun cooks your paint.

You can get a burn leaning on the car in Arizona between June an September

Not much you can do except get it repainted. I had a good body shop do my roof a few years ago, cost was $300.00 and they did a good job. Now the tops of my doors and the area above my rear side windows has begun to slowly turn white and flake off. I will have to get those done sooner or later.

I'm in the same boat. Over the past year the roof has turned "cloudy" and a couple of previously touched up spots on the hood too.

Repainting is the only fix.

I don't think I'd paint the top black, especially in the Phoenix area. Too hot. Something more reflective, like silver or steel colors. Home Depot sells some interesting metallic spray paints from Rustoleum.

But in the end, there's no alternative, really, to getting a paint job.

yep, my roof is long gone, and in my last wreck, i replaced the PS fender and the junkyard one is already de-clearcoated, and I got a silver hood that's in good condition. I agree that paint is the only fix, but dark colors will make the problem worse rather than better.

Yea I know AZ heat and black anything is not a good thing but I cant think of any light color that goes with red to well maybe a shade of gray but it would still be a darker shade of gray.

I don't see silver and red as a combo at all they don't go together that great

I see so many fools in black cars in AZ I think most are from CA they just cant grasp that black is bad in 115 heat.

The dark slate gray hood i picked matches my blue well. IMO dark slate and red wouldn't be too bad. White would be a bit much (but I bet people would move over thinking you're the battalion chief), same with light silver.

Sexy models aside this red and gray look ok but a darker shade of gray would work better.
