99 v8 manual transfer case
bubba,
I have a 99 Cherokee 231 and a 98 Grand Cherokee 249. Both were behind automatics. Check this link, this link and this link, it may help as to what will work. Watch for input shaft depth and diameter. pm if you are interested in my cases. If far away from Texas shipping might lean you towards a better deal near you.

Dodge won't look up parts without a VIN number so this is the best I can do.
As long as it is out of a 5 speed it should fit fine.
In '00, I don't have a '99 parts manual, there is only one transfer case for all manual transmissions. Engine didn't matter either.
I looked it up on Rockauto for '99. They list 2 versions and the only difference is the spline count on the output shaft, 27 or 32.
Any GOOD boneyard WILL have an interchange manual but from what I see, I'd do it.

any will work just change in main shaft. i have a hybrid in mine its a 231 hd and 231 j smashed together because i cracked my case. there actually really easy to dis assemble but if its not your thing any tranny shop should be able to do it easy enough.
