Trouble with throttle

Default Trouble with throttle

Hello I need some help with my 2000 Dodge Dakota 4x4 It has a 4.7 trouble with the throttle , as I drive 50 to 60 mph the IACV makes the idle go from 1800 rpm to 2300 rpm then back down, I have change the IACV with no luck ,Starts fine idle fines, Could use some help with this

Moving this to the second gen dakota section. That's a whole different animal than what we are used to dealing with.

What do you mean the idle goes from 1800 to 2300 rpm as you're driving? The engine shouldn't be idling then.


It sounds more like a transmission problem, going into/out of overdrive.


Do you have any codes?

I should not have said idle it's when I am driving 50 to 60mph , there is no code showing

I agree with Dan.. sounds like a tranny problem.
