Tire Size
Hey guys i just ordered my 3in body lift for my 2000 3.9l v6 and i was wondering how big tires i could run on it with the lift. I've got a friend with 33in 15r offroad tires and i was wondering if i could fit these without rubbing after the lift is installed. I'd like to see pictures if any of you have a similar setup. Thanks.

I ran 33's (33x10.50's not the 12.5" wide ones) on my 99 with a 1.5" block lift in the rear and the t bars cranked to match up front.
Tires rubbed the rear fenders a bit at full flex and I did have to trim the flares just a bit, but you wouldn't run into that problem with a body lift.
You will need wheel spacers up front to keep from rubbing when you turn the wheel all the way though.

10.50's shouldnt rub at all. Maybe if you have a tire that has good side wall lugs. My truck had 11.50's on it and it barely rubbed. If you did a 2in body lift and torsion bar crank you would clear 33's just fine. Im not sure if they member is still on here but he had a 3in body lift and his torsion bar cranked and he had 35's on his
Stock with 31/10.50/15's(factory size)

Experimented with no flares. Made it look taller but I put them back on

Now most 32x11.50's would clear the frame without spacers, a few of the more aggressive tread patterns might not. A 33x10.50 might depend on the brand of tire. Mine are BFG mud terrains. The AT's might be slightly smaller and clear without rubbing the frame.
And yes, you will be just fine to run 33's with a 3" body lift as far as fender clearance goes. Probably don't even need that much. After you get the tires you can decide if you need wheel spacers or not. I decided against it because they only rub at full lock and I just don't turn the wheel that much. I do have to warn people who borrow my truck though.
If I were you and had a v6 I might be looking at the 32x11.50's. I love the 33's on my truck and with the 5.2 it does well off road and can still cruise on the highway, but it still feels a bit bogged down at full highway speed and acceleration is a bit more sluggish, although nothing like it was with my 2.5L Jeep YJ on 33's.
32's might give you what you're looking for without bogging down the V6 quite as much.

Here's the only pic I really have handy of it from hunting season last year. Definitely made use of the 33" mudders that week! The bed was loaded down with wet firewood past the bedrails too so imagine the rear end about 2" higher...
Again, this is just 1.5" blocks in the rear and torsion bars cranked to match.

I bet you were running 32x11.50's though. Width is only part of the equation. As the tire gets taller the edges will get closer and closer to the frame when you are turning at full lock. There is a chance that you could run a 30" tall tire that is 14" wide and not have it rub but a 35" tall tire that is only 8" wide might rub. I know these are not tire sizes, I'm just making a point. I definitely have rubbing on the frame with my 33x10.50's and it would only be worse with a 33x12.50. No lift will be able to help with that. Wheels spacers are the ticket, or just not turning the wheel all the way (that's what I do).

Tire size should be the same if going 31/10.50 vs 33/10.50 and so on. The side lugs that are different might make it seem like its wider but its really not. You might have different brands that might be slightly different but a 1/4in is the most ive saw in size difference between brands.
are as advertised. Plus sizes change between manufacturers.
Best bet is to actually measure the tires you want.
