Hi and welcome to the forum. I moved your post into a new thread.

What engine do you have?

There is a crankshaft position sensor that reads off the flywheel (notches). Is it in place and the wires connected? Was the sensor damaged or the wire pinched between the engine/bellhousing? Back of engine, passenger side top.

When you say will not start. Dose the engine turn over or dose it do nothing when you turn the key? It would help if knew what engine you have.
Dans probably right on if the engine is turning over.

If the engine isn't turning over then i would guess that there is a problem wit the neutral safety switch.

Thumbs up Dodge truck not start after replacing clutch

I want to thank everybody for the helpful information on my 1998 Dodge Dakota with the starting problem. Forgive me for not including the engine #. My buddy and I were in a down mood when I sent my request. It was indeed the crank sensor. From what we can see, the yoke was already cracked and the sensor would have to be replaced anyway. The real problem was we weren't up on the Dodge trucks in that regard. The sensor came right out when removing the transmission, which neither of us saw, and as well, neither of us had seen this sensor going into the bell housing in the first place. So, many thanks for the info and I hope we can work something out again.
