Question ABS Brake light comes on intermittently

My 02 Dakota 2wd with rear anti lock brakes has an intermittent issue with the abs/brake light coming on, then off? I replaced the rear diff sensor twice, with no change. This is more of a pain, as I hate the abs brakes on my Dakota! Thanks ahead of time for any solutions. Brad

There are scan tools to read the control modules for a reason. Get the codes and stop throwing random parts at it.

Pretty bad when a dealer tech agrees with me.

My ABS constantly (but inconsistently) was kicking in on dry pavement. No ABS light, just the pulsating solenoid noise and pedal. One day with the hood up, reached over and unplugged the RWAL from the controller. Noise and pedal went away and I can stop much better. ABS and brake lights are on but I don't care.

If you're an experienced driver, that old system is a distraction more than anything. Maybe ok if you had a topper and a moderate load most of the time, but stock and empty, no way.

poor guy at firestone. I had new front tires put on it, and the guy goes "Both of your tires are worn bare, you have no power steering, the hood won't open, your engine, ABS, brake, and fuel lights are on, and your inspection is out this month. Do you want us to fix any of that?"

I just laughed at him. Then told him the hood opens like a ram and walked away while he got confused.

I only wish we had inspections here. Some of the $hitboxes on the road make me veer over 4 lanes to get away from them, thinking at any second the atoms will start flying.

After having the brake lines blow on a little corolla I had last year I have never been so conscious as to what vehicles I drive near especially ones driving behind me.

I have literally seen a car on the road with no rear hatch, bumper, tail light and muffler scraping on the ground and that's normal for Quebec cars. Completely ridiculous.
