Default Power locks problem.

My power locks where working from my keyfob and door switch's. I live in indiana and went down to the local Zbart place and had them put on a remote starter from audio vox. A code alarm ca5054. Remote start works fine. Power locks from new keyfob worked fine for a day now they dont work from fob or both door switch's. Took it back to Zbart and they said the code alarm was pulsing fine so it had to be another problem. They basically said figure it out yourself because it wasnt the install or the code alarm equipment. WTF!!! My dome light doesnt work either. This is my first remote starter.

Hi Blackcatt,

What year is your Dakota? 2 or 4 door? Engine and trans?

The dome lamp fuse is #12 in the junction block on the side of the dash. It may be related to the lock problem.

The Dakota uses a 2 wire system for the door locks. Zbart likely put a relay into the system - where, I don't know. I can't find a manual for the system online.

Basically, I'd take it back and tell them to fix it. If they don't, contact your credit card company or go to small claims court.
