Check eBay for a used PCM. I bricked my PCM once when I tried to flash it via an SCT tuner. Found a used PCM on eBay and when it was delivered, I swapped it out and the truck started right up.

what year pcm will work the truck is a 97 the new motor is a 98 but i used the 97 harness. And yes the truck ran fine for two weeks before this issue so i know it has nothing to do with the swap

also yes i have tested the injectors they are pulseing. So that means the ASD is functioning correct?

The ASD is working if you get power to the injectors.

I don't think the 5.9 was available in '97. You could try a '98 PCM.

Do not even attempt running any PCM from '01 and up, the computer bus changed.

The parking lights or DRL's?

Neither are run off of the CTM or PCM in a '97.

Sounds like there may be a bad ground if weird things are happening.

the parking lamps now its not doing it. IDK i ran all new ground with 2gauge wire so i know its not a grounding issue. i think the truck is possessed.

Ok possessed is how my Dakota acted when my PCM freaked out on me but I had bucking, stalling, Idle problems, hard starts, engine cut outs just the strangest things happening.

The very strange thing is at times it ran great
