Default synthetic oil filter?

I was looking at oil filters, and is ready to change my oil to synthetic oil, is it really necessary to have an synthetic oil filter vs a regular oil filter?

You can use a regular oil filter...

But, the assumption is that you'll be running longer oil change intervals. In that case some feel that a regular oil filter won't be as effective at filtering due to the interval or that the filter itself may begin to break down.

If you run the same oil change interval it shouldn't be an issue.
