A loud noise on my 2001 Dodge Dakota, what is it?
There is this loud, churning noise every time I turn the wheels left. I already changed the front left side bearing and I still have the same noise. What else could it be? Please answer.
Need more info in order for us to help better.
Is it a 4x4?
Happen at all speeds? Just slow/just fast?
Slight turn? Full turn?
If it's a 4x4, the axle U-joint can cause a churning noise when they freeze up.
Usually only makes noise when turning, not so much going straight.

I just changed the hubs on my 03; pretty simple job if you're used to doing brakes. Do the complete hub..forget about swapping just bearings because the reluctor nubs for anti-lock pick-ups will be shot, or ready to split based on your truck age. You will need a 35mm socket and a torque wrench..mine needed 185 ft lbs I believe. Hubs are cheaper on line than at the parts store.

My 02 4x4 used a 32mm socket, but the 185 ft lbs sounds about right.
