Default 2.5l dakota sport -- full racing exhaust

hi all, I'm a new newbie. I just like to know how fun it would be to ride a 4banger with full racing exhaust. I wonder if it make it roar or rumble. I'm a daily driver and I just want a fun ride from point A to point B. Anyway, I think I'm going to do a full racing exhaust just for the fun of it. Maybe post some fotos.

exhaust mod
dual exhaust magnaflow 2.5" custom
high flow cat 2.5"
banks power manifold 2.5" downpipe custom
will see how it goes

Way bigger than you need. I'd run 2" stuff otherwise you'll have next to zero backpressure.

If you are going to run full boar with the 2.5 a good exhaust will help just a little bit but I will say you are wasting hard cash for almost no return.

The 2.5 is a basic get from A to B that's it I have seen many try to squeeze more power out of it and it never turns out well and its expensive the expensive part just busts any power you get from the mods. At what around $400 or more with having the exhaust tubes custom made and you will need it done as all BANKS kits are for the Jeep not the Dakota. The other mods will ad around $300 or more.

Wow that's almost a used V6 or V8 swap if you have the knowledge to do it that is.

I'm being very honest think it out

I like my 2.5 runs like a top my little gem in the wood pile you could say Plus my advantage is its a basic Dakota the feather weight of the Dakotas so the 2.5 does well for me.

But I have my eye on the lookout for a beater V6 either 2_nd gen or newer like a 2006 that I can have fun building it back to quality Dak status.

I love DIY auto work and moding work keeps life fun

ohh great, I just had the shop put on a cat back 2.5" dual exhaust magnaflow. It sound therapeutic though. I love to take the longest route from work, the back country road everyday. That's about it. The motor doesn't seem to fall apart when I take it pass 70m/h. It used to vibrate alot. It is nice and mellow. I think its becoming an obsession getting 2.5l up to speed. I can't help myself i have to install me a headers.

The 2.5 Dakota will hit 70 mph easy even up to 100 mph if you know how to drive it correctly mph is not its drawback its torque power were it sucks. Going up a steep highway clime tells you were it sucks or bucking strong 50 mph headwinds that's when I don't like my 2.5.

Unfortunately I think my 2.5 has lost power these past few years I think its time for a head job or R&R engine time she doesn't have the power like when it was new.

I haven't checked my compression in a few years but I suspect it has dropped.

I like the exhaust dump look, but I do not like that they dumped it through the leaf springs though. Wonder why they did that.

Edit: well it appears the dump through the leaf springs is actually quite common... Does this look funny to anyone else? Something about it just doesn't side right with me.

98DAKAZ, here is a video that you might like. This may restore some power. I also used
3x restore to clean my motor to gain compression.
