Is the system charged with the correct amount of refrigerant?

Jump the pressure switch. If the compressor comes on, it's low on refrigerant.

Pressure switch should have just two. It's on the refrigerant pipes usually close to the drier. Pull it off and put a paper clip across the sockets on the plug.

Yeah, just remove the connector. No need to take the switch out of the line. It is a two connector switch on the low pressure line.
