Default Quality front brake Pads

Ok I have a fairly new set of front brake pads one year old but I'm not all that impressed with them their not poor quality just ok.

So what do you suggest as a replacement?

I'm not even sure what brand I installed as I purchased them around 3 years ago but installed them last year about this time and they were no longer in a box.

I was thinking of the Bendix Titaniumetallic II Brake Pad Set.

Amazon.com: Bendix MKD369 Semi-Metallic Brake Pad Set: Automotive Amazon.com: Bendix MKD369 Semi-Metallic Brake Pad Set: Automotive

Hopefully the pads wont grind down my rotors ASAP my rotors are about the same one year old.

Not sure if you seen any of my other posts on brakes but i bought rotors and drums bendix being they USED to be a good brand.. either USA or Canada; now they are china and I'm having issues with the drums not being properly round and machined properly..
The rotors like to wobble so had to get rid of those.. and i wish i would have never bought them and will never ever buy another Bendix product. Waste of money

With that said.. i picked up a set of Wagner service grade that typically go for 100 bucks a set from rock auto for under 30.. i love them.. no dust, no sounds.. been on the truck now almost a year i think and still look bran new..

I only really care for Wagner brand in their mid to upper premium brand other than that i can only speak for Advanced house brand in their premium line i had on my 2001 jeep front calipers lockd up driving home smelling them all the way burning tons of fuel when i finally pulled them off my rotors were glazed but the pads were bran new looking still.. i was impressed. (and amazed) little sand paper and they lasted for as long as i still had that.. if i ever need pads locally and dont want to pay for wagners in a pince ill buy advanced in their GOLD/Premium line.. I've had very good luck with them..

i dont waste my time with any of the fancy stuff.. i did that once on an old acura i had waste of money.. burnt through them.. I stick with service grade where they can be had.. they are designed to take a beating (Police/Military/Cab Grade)... and give longer life. (for a premium price) but if you can get them off rock auto for cheap its worth every penny.

My advice is... never buy brakes online. It's a waste of money. Buy good pads with lifetime warranty, then change them out for free every time they wear down.

I'm on my 2nd set of Wagner Thermoquiet Ceramics from Advance Auto. Took the last set back, gave them a copy of the receipt which I scanned years ago. They kept the box for shipping the old set back to the manuf. I walked out with the new pads, scot free and I can keep doing this for life. These are excellent, low dusting pads, BTW.

I have Autozone Duralast Gold Semi Metallic pads, been on my truck for maybe 4 years now and still have plenty of friction material left. My truck stops great, the pads are quiet with no squealing and have not caused any abnormal wear on my rotors. If and when they do wear out I believe they have a lifetime warranty too. They don't put out any more dust than any other pad I have used. I have heard and read it is best to use cheap rotors and good pads. It is best to buy rotors based on price because they come from the same factory anyway unless you buy the high end ones like Brembo. The only difference in rotors is the price and the label of the store on the box. I have Wearever rotors from Advance on my truck and they are doing fine. I used an online discount to save money on the set.

Normally don’t go for high priced brake pads but I’m leaning toward something a little higher priced this time. I may try the Bindex as they are fair priced around $40 if they suck I may try Hawk or Wagner sever duty or Thermoquiet pads as I had wagners last time and they were good. Almost no brake pad reviews on the net the ones I saw were promo reviews for the product they sell so I don’t trust them much. I think I had raybestos on at one time and they were great but they don’t make the same model any more they were always painted red and I think they were called power stop.

Forgot to mention...the ceramic pads are on my Accord. They were over five years old when I changed them recently. I still haven't worn out the ones that were on my truck when I bought it. I'm not sure what brand they are, but they don't dust too badly. The rotors however, were terribly warped. I mean so warped, the brake pedal slowly pulsed even if I was going 10 mph. I replaced those with Wagner rotors from Advance, again lifetime warranty... they have been great so far. The way I see it, if you're going to get lifetime warranty on some brake, get really good stuff, else you'll have to life with subpar performance for life, or come out of pocket again.

Wearever is Advance house brand and they have two year warranty. I have em on the Accord... I'm going to run them for a while longer then exchange them. They are beginning to warp a bit... part of that was due to improper break-in procedure that I performed.

IDK man.. with what I've seen I wouldnt let another bendix touch my truck.. esp being they are made in china now.. these are our brakes.. I don't trust my brakes to just anyone..

if it were I i would go in with the most trusted name in the business. Wagner.. and I'd go with the severe duty just bc they are the highest quality pad with longest rated life for hardly nothing if you get off rockauto.. other than that id walk in local store and pick up their mid- to premium grade..

i dont trust my or my little girls life to china.. not even to save a few bucks.

But you gotta do what you gotta do.

My Wagner Thermoquiets on my Cougar (yah, yah, I know!) with the PBR dual-piston front brakes have been doing good for over 40,000 miles, no noise, very little dust, and the other day I pulled out to pass a slow moving truck on a twisty road, saw someone coming, and had to stomp and jink to get back in before I became a hood ornament for a Mac truck (honestly could have been a Kenworth or Peterbilt - didn't pay THAT much attention!) that was sailing down that Louisiana Country Road at night.

Can't get them for my 1988 Dakota, or I'd be running them.

I have no idea how well they'll work on a Dakota, just a data point for you.

I use EBC Yellow Stuff pads on all my vehicles. Yes, they're expensive. But they're the only pads I've ever used where I could actually feel a big improvement in how they stop.

Ok Tom

Are they good for all around city driving stop and go or better for specific scenarios?

Do they only work when hot as most of my driving is short 10 to 15 minute drives usualy that is.
