Most hardware stores will have a cheap caliper around $7 to $15 a more expensive one is advised but not needed. I inherited a caliper after my Dad passed its a cheap basic caliper but have used it many times and consider it a very important tool to own same with a small stainless steel ruler in SAE and metric used it many times.
