Like to change out my headlight bulbs.
I did a search, but not really finding my answer....
I have a 97 Dakota and usually drive with the low beams and driving lights on. When I activate the high beams, there really is not much of a difference.
Can someone suggest a GOOD bulb replacement and any info on the R&R process. I would like to LIGHT up the sky without adding additional lighting.
TIA, Paul

yeah my silverstars are kick ***, but i want the 9007 hid conversion kit that we sell at the ford dealership i work at for the newer f150's. it uses the same bulb design but it adds a ballast and the hid bulb on a 9007 connector.

Excuse my ignorance, but what are Silverstars? I would also like to improve to lighting on my Dakota. Mine is a Canadian spec truck. As I understand it, on a US spec truck, the Indicators are on with the ignition to give side lights and just flash brighter when needed as indicators (turn signals!). The headlights work in the normal way, ie. Dipped and High/Main beam. On mine, the Headlights are on with the ignition but they are on High beam but at a reduced voltage to give side lights. The first click on the rotory dial puts the tail-lights on and the last click put the headlights onto Dipped beam but at full/regular voltage. Main/Full beam is selected via the lever on the colum as usual. Would Silverstars still work with this set up?
Any help would be much appriciated,
Thanks,
Paul

Well I ended up with a set of PIAA 9700....Not really sure if there is much difference, but I only took a short ride around the block last night.
I also took the opportuniyt to install a remote start gizzmo. I like the idea of being able to start the truck while in the house on cold mornings prior to driving off. Nice feature.

I had the PIAAs in my Eclipse and they were awsome. Headlights and Foglights. The only reason I didn't get them for the Dak was because I didn't wanna pay 90 bucks again for a set of headlights. Maybe they're cheaper now.
Daksport, sorry for the lag time on the response but the kit is like $600 and all you have to do is plug the ballasts into the factory plugs, mount the ballasts, run a constant hot wire from the batt to the ballast, ground the ballast well (really well, like back to the batt), install the hid lamp, plug in the connector from the ballast to the new light.
