Default Lifting 97 dakota

So Im looking to change the stance of my truck. I have a 97 v8 4wd. Doesn't have to be a suspension like I said just changing the look. Any suggestions on a kit. How difficult are they to do?

Crank the torsion bars and get some blocks or add a leaf for the rear.

Torsion crank you can get about .5-1.5 (Some say 2" ) lift on front more of a level job unless you put the blocks on the back which you can use universal.

Body lift you can get a 2" or 3"

they offer full suspension kits for our truck up to 3" but is like 1-1.5K for the kit. Not really worth it IMO..

I did mine... torsion cranks + 2" body lift and 32" tires i gained about 5-6 " total lift..

My post and pics before/after are on the before after sticky in the root of 2nd generation general board.

The easiest/cheapest way to gain significant altitude is with a body lift. It's about $300 and should take about a day to install. That will give you 3" of lift, which should let you comfortably run 33" tires.

You can also do the torsion bar crank, which should net you another 1.5" or so, and make your truck look pretty good without having to spend a ton of money.

There is a bolt-on 5.5" kit available, but it's expensive, a lot of work to install, and isn't all that well built, IMO. I wouldn't go that way (again, lol).

Or, you can go all-out and put a solid front axle in it...

I wouldn't go any bigger than 33s with stock front end anyways..body lift and torsion crank will be able to fit 33s..
