thats alot of work on a small budget for the conversion to a carb and a big block. I have a 727 trans and a 383 big block that came stock in my dads 1967 dodge charger. and even then it be expensive unless I could find some used parts for cheap. one step at a time this is my first track intended build.

If you are on Facebook, poke your head in the Dakota R/T owners group and Flyin Ryan group.

Take the truck you have now, bolt on the Harland/John Mercedes 1.7 roller rockers, get a can tune from Ryan until you can get widebands, and run with it.

A 318 dakota won mopars at the motorplex this weekend.

The gears in my rear end have went out, should I stick with the 3.93 or move lower. 4.10? or rock auto had a set of 4.56 for only 130.00? thoughts and opinions are greatly appreciated!!!!

depends on what size tire you want to run. I went from 3.55 to 4.10 and it made a big difference. 3.92 to 4.10 isn't much. 4.30 is the perfect gear but nobody makes it for a 8.25 or 9.25. 4.56 will hit hard but you'll need big tires be have a good sense of when to pedal it out of tire spin.

Dana 60 would be even better! This is a track vehicle, Cutting and modifying is all part of it.

well if I can stuff a 265/70/16 in my wheel wells, a 31x10.5 or similar should fit nicely. A 29x10.5 would look at home on a stock truck. I'm not sure how tall they make the 10.5's. An 11.5 would probably fit too.

I'm planning on taking a late model ram 2500 dana 60 and narrowing it with C-Clip Eliminator Outers and disk brakes. It uses the same ring gear sensor so it will look like it belongs to the computer, albeit i'm sure the tooth count is different.
