Default Bad hub or what?

Just replaced my DS front hub assembly last night after months of hearing the grind. Maybe I should have tested it...

New Timken gives me noise like a bad hub!? Right turn noise puts load on left side indicating bad left hub.

Can a new hub be bad?

Can something in the 4X4 drive train cause a grind, only going straight or rh turns/curves? Left turn = no noise.

I described it as grind, it's just noise coming through to the steering wheel.

I have not checked the front diff for fluid or lack there of. Shame on me for assuming!

Not sure with a 4X4 but 2wd the proper torque is extremely important to not damaging the new bearings.

Yes a new hub can be bad. It may also be your RH hub. I know, usually with a right turn the left one gets noisy if it's bad - but not always!

Talking

I remember when I was almost at the proper torque the nut just kind of popped/slipped in right at that correct torque like it was meant to be kind of weird then it clicked OK done.
