Haven't had a chance to dive into it yet due to work, however yesterday took it on a 200 mile road trip, about 80 degrees peak ambient temp. Got stuck in traffic for about 5 minutes right after cruising 75 on the interstate. Saw the needle creep up to the low mark on the guage. Also this morning on the way to work it was about 50 degrees and I turned the heater on and barely got any warmth the entire drive. Gonna swap the thermostat Thursday morning when I get off work. Wiring looks good at least until it dives into harness 6 inches from connector. I'll update Thursday.

Put in the correct thermostat - not a 180. It's a 195 and get it from Dodge. Lots of crap parts out there.

It really does run better when at the design temp.

Alright I dug the thermostat out and swapped it. It was 180 degree that failed open. I replaced with a new 180 degree cause that's what I had. Let it idle for about 20 minutes at the house and the temp guage only comes up to the cold mark but the guage is moving.

180 will be fine. i dont think there's a difference as long as you have the right temperature plugs in it to match the stat,

I'd rather it fail open than closed!
