Default HVAC Blend Door Issues

I've owned my '01 since new. I've also had terrible heat and A/C out of the extreme left dash vent as well as mediocre results from the one on the other side of the steering wheel. At one point several years ago I had everything "fixed". The original Mechanic claimed he was able to get to the problem by only removing the dash part way. The results were better but not perfect. I used a different mechanic late on who fixed the problem to my satisfaction. I've also had an unrelated issue with loss of cooling after 2 seasons, but since the repair requires a new evaporator just adding freon was a much easier and less expensive fix. This year I noticed the A/C seemed to be getting weaker toward the end of the season so I figured it was time to get it recharged. Local temps have been moderate and I felt no rush to get things done. Today we are experiencing higher temps and I noticed the air coming from the vents seemed heated to a degree (PUN!!) I fiddled with the controls and determined that it seems the blend door may be giving me problems again.

The reason for this long winded post is to ask if there is a replacement unit that will eliminate the blend door problems and also since it appears the dash may have to be disassembled again if there is a duct reroute/improvement that might improve the air distribution on the drivers side. I had the distribution problems since day one and the selling dealer insisted "they all do that" so I knew I was wasting my time and just let it go. Do I just fix it again or can I fix it for he last time? The truck is only clocking around 67K and I have zero plans to get rid of it but this HVAC issue is driving me more crazy than I am normally.

Only fix is to pull the dash then the HVAC box then replace as much as possible both cores and new fan as you dont want to do it again.

Big problem is a new blend door is a no go they dont make them anymore most used would be junk at best.

I plan to try, believe me. I don't take anything posted on forums as gospel. I'll try and post my findings and results of whatever the outcome is!

I'm also not positive the door is the actual problem yet. I haven't opened anything and was just "fishing" for information. The job should happen within the next week or so. Maybe there's just an acorn jammed in the door!!

This is what a 97 to 00 Dakota HVAC box looks like I 100% rebuilt it way simple compared to a 2001 and up.
