Question Burning Smell When Braking Hard

Before you jump to an answer, know it is NOT the brakes. They are 100% fine.

This is a liquid burning smell and I have seen smoke come from under the hood. Unfortunately I have never been quick enough to see it with the hood up. Just seeing if this is a common or known issue. All searches turn up braking problems unrelated to my issue.

Taking a stab. Are there any reservoirs near the engine that might be leaking under severe braking? A cap that is not sealing correctly allowing brake fluid or some other juices to land on the engine or some part of the engine? Hard braking like panic stop or just hard braking.

Just semi-hard braking; I dont drive slow and I brake quick

Deff seems to be wet at the rear of the block, but all levels good. No pin pointed leaks and doesn't seem it would be fast enough to cause the smell it does and as often.

Maybe oil getting on the exhaust manifold. Do you have leaky valve covers?
