Default 01 dodge dakota no spark

truck decided to die at idle. started back up and sounded like it was running on 4 cylinders. truck had never been tuned up while ive had it. truck has 184000. so i replaced plugs. after that it would start at all. had code p0118. found bad ground to the engine coolant temp sensor. no more codes. still no fire. went ahead and replaced crank sensor and cam sensor. still no fire. any ideas?

No ideas at all. I come from the points and plugs era when the ignition was simple and straightforward. Today a no spark problem might be related to the color of your socks for all I know! As a stab in the dark, is it possible to be ignition switch related? Since the systems are controlled through the switch as well as possibly 27 other places, it "could" be there, but I don't know what you'd have to check or how to do it. I guess starting with a wiring diagram would be step one. See what could interfere with the ignition system working.

Welcome to the forum Tbutler.

What engine?

P0118 - Engine Coolant Temp Sensor voltage high. A bad ground will do that.

Have you checked for spark? Do you have a noid light to check the fuel injectors firing?
