If you have the 5.2, use the 5.2 flexplate. 5.2 is internally balanced.

Yeah, the torque converter should be neutral balance on 96 or newer trucks.

Everything should swap over as long as it has the same number pins on the plug on the transmission you might check that before pulling them out an trying just to save you some time and labor

The only difference in a 5.9 and a 5.2 set up is the 5.9 has to keep the fly wheel with the motor everything else can swap over now if it is a 2500 you will have to watch it sometimes they had a higher stall torque converter put in them from factory and aftermarket only thing with that is it might feel like it is stuck is some sort of tow haul setting but it is just a torque converter with a higher stall, that being said when I sell a transmission I usually sell the torque converter with it and always highly recommend to people to keep that torque converter with the transmission rather then using their old since it worked with that transmission previously without issues

If you take both fly wheels and look at them side by side you will notice the 5.9 has weights the 5.2 does not that is the only difference it is important to keep them on their original motors I never remove them unless necessary

The problem on the full sized trucks is, does the trans have the provisions for mounting the t-case shifter. In 98, it moved from the trans, to the body.... and the lugs for it disappeared off the trans.
