From what I can recall, the voltage regulator is not a part of the alternator and is built into the PCM. What issue are you having?

When i was going home this afternoon my check gauge light came and the battery gauge wasnt working. so when i got home i turn the truck off and then it wouldnt start so i had the alternator and battery tested and they both passed. I just havent tried starting it up yet i was gonna wait til morning.

I actually assumed that you have a 4.7L engine, which I shouldn't have. LMK if that isn't the case. Either way, I suggest pulling the alternator and having it tested while out of the truck.

If both tested ok next to check would be the battery temp sensor its under the battery it can cause charging problems, also check your connections for corrosion.

If the issue was the battery temp sensor, I think it would be throwing a P1492 code. I had my Alt tested while still in the truck and was told it was good. Pulled the alt and two tests said bad. Changed the alt and all is well.
