Looking at a 2004 Dodge Dakota SLT Quad Cab 4WD
Well I traded in my 01 durango for the Dakota.... Test drive went great and no leaks.... One owner vehicle and they keep it clean.... Now to learn..... Where is the Jack?
I might need to get a spare key does the key have a chip?
Its silver in color and rights like my Kia Sorento nice and smooth.

Jack is under rear seat on passenger side. Flip up bottom of seat and look under. Your key probably does not have chip, if it's like mine. Any locksmith should be able to make one. Post a pic and I should be able to confirm.
That is one sharp looking truck! They chromed the wheels too.

Here is a pic..
Since it does not some-type of security I like to get an alarm put in it. I also like to get a satellite radio.

Now delete the pic, before someone files a blank and comes for your truck. It can be done.... LOL

I hear you! I just got back from my insurance place and it drop 25 dollars.....thats good.
Yes, they are reliable trucks and it will tow that weight without any issue. Of course, like with any other used vehicle, prior maintenance is the biggest factor. Since you're buying an SLT, it should have a tow package, which means it has a tranny cooler up front. Should also have disc brakes all around and the 545RFE tranny is very reliable. There will also be a connection for trailer brake module, under the dash. The 4.7L does not take well to overheating, so be sure to pay attention to any coolant leaks, fan issues, etc. Be sure to change the diff fluid and the ATF.
I'm at 274K on mine and it's my daily driver. Almost feels like Japanese car reliability, but Dodge gas mileage.

Would I need to remove the cover underneath to get to the connection for trailer brake module?
