A question about plenum pans
I have a 2002 with the 3.9 in it. I am looking at tearing the top end down to replace a suspected collapsed/weak lifter and am researching whether or not to replace the plenum plate while i am in there.. The TSB includes all magnum motors up to the year 2000.
Did Dodge fix the plenum issues on post- 2000 vehicles? or is that when the TSB came out and Dodge just kept installing the faulty steel pans?

If I do replace it it would be a matter of preventative maintenance, It's not currently bad. But if I am in there already to fix a bad lifter, I would replace the pan as well..
I thought it was odd that the TSB stopped at the year 2000, and have seen some comments on other forums that the post 2000 magnums didn't have this issue.
I was just hoping someone could confirm or deny that.

It is far less prevalent on the v-6's.... but, if you are going to have the intake off anyway.... change the plenum gasket, and just use some slightly shorter bolts. (or, cut the nipples of the existing bolts) End of Problem.
