Question 2000 dakota 4.7L v8, overheating

Recently the upper radiator hose cracked and cause the truck to overheat. After replacing the hose, the engine still seems to not be receiving coolant, and the coolant system is boiling while the temp gauge maxes out. There is no leaking anywhere.
Any idea what could be causing this?

Welcome to the forum.

Is the radiator itself hot? How about the heater hoses? Is coolant moving basically.

The thermostat could have failed.

The radiator and Lower hoses are cool, but the upper hose is pretty hot, and coolant is boiling
