No key. How do I remove the cylinder or options around it?
Hey, we lost a key for a 2002 Dodge Dakota RT and we're trying to replace the ignition cylinder. Any way to get it out without the key or maybe any other ideas on how we can get the original key. Anything.
I've been told that the key files for our trucks may no longer exist due to age...mixed answers depending on who I ask.
Call the dealer with your vin, and ask them if they can cut you a key.
I have 2 SKIM keys and a black key, i'm good. OP might ask tho.

I can still get my old 97 key code. An old dealer will still have a book with codes.
One of those fancy new FCA facilities that they'll never make their construction money back on won't have one.
If all fails, the lock pin on the cylinder is softer than the metal around it. If you hit it enough with a punch chisel, it will flatten enough to get the cylinder out. I do it quite frequently here.
